Head start?
Head Start is a federally funded program for preschool children 6 weeks to 5 years of age in low-income families. In Tangipahoa Parish the program is managed by a local nonprofit organization, Regina Coeli Child Development Center. Regina Coeli also offers an Early Head Start option at no cost to families.
Head Start programs operated by Regina Coeli Child Development Center will provide your child with a quality preschool experience in a loving, caring, and safe environment. The mission is to provide the highest quality of service to children and families through a community team effort based on the question: “Is it good for children?"

Schedule an appointment
An Early Childhood staff member will assist with applications, income calculations, and screening.
Parents will need to have the following documents to apply:
Original birth certificate
Driver’s License or Picture I.D.
2 - 4 Current paycheck stub(s) – two previous month’s salary for the household or SNAP
Guardianship Papers (If applicable) and IFSP
IEP if applicable
